Good Entry-Level Job for Experience

CareerBuilder is a good entry-level sales job for those that have just graduated from college and don t have too many bills. You will be trained how to sell and learn skills that will build your resume and help you get a better sales job down the road.

The base pay is only $25k but I ve heard they have changed it. You may have a limited amount of leads to the point where you have to call people so frequently that they get upset with you.

Advice to Management

The high turnover upsets the customers. In order to build customer relationships you need to retain more people. RAISE YOUR PAY! Also, don t judge someone s abilities based on how well they do calling small businesses. MOST OF THEM AREN T HIRING. Sales in that division are more luck than anything. Basically, getting ahold of the right person at the right time. It s not hard to tell if someone is good or not. If they are, THEY SHOULD BE SELLING TO LARGER COMPANIES.

Solid opportunity

Opportunity for Advancement. Freedom to run your own business. Selling a product that really helps employers and job seekers. Learning and training. Fun – high pay and morale. Hard work equals advancement and opportunity. Sure you have to put thew work in – nothing is handed to you, but you are rewarded handsomely for top performance. Where else can folks with minimal sales experience come in, make $75-100K and then go lead a team of sales reps in less than 24 months? You need to practice and study – this is a career , not a job. If you are not willing to invest in yourself why should CB?

Dealing with Owner Companies – McClatchy, Gannett, Tribune. They ran their own companies into the ground – leave CB (their only real money maker laft) alone

Honest review. If you are applying or thinking of a position here, many resources are available for you

Benefits are great. Also, CB is still growing 27% year over year providing for numerous growth opportunities. Also, pay opportunity is amazing as long as you are good at sales.

Same with any sales position, monthly quotas, sales in general.

Advice to Management

Promote me to Chief Creative Officer.

Great place to grow your career!

Career Advancement and income potential are great! The culture is fast and upbeat, and is performance driven company.

Can get stressful when it comes to hitting numbers and the numbers seem to never be enough, but culture is good.

Advice to Management

Some managers could get more involved with employees, when it comes to strategy, but some are doing a great job. Noticed better involement in AZ then in Chicago.

Great place to find what you want

people and culture are the best htings about working here. if you have a sense of humor, don t mind talking on the phone to the dumbest HR people imaginable then you will like it. The poeple are what make it fun. I play catch inthe office, have beers after work, and sometimes we do cool events that revolve around aprtying. Very stressful, but if you re good you can make a lot of doiugh from day one. I have seen it happen a hundred times. Burnout is common but culture is cool. THey play favorites, but not as bad as other companies I have owrked for. You get that everywahere but here performance is measured. You can also question management and they encourage it without repricussion

telesales sucks. I dont like to make 75 dials and do two and a half hour of talk time. retarded, but they have a point because it forces you to call on new business. my manager was more concerned with his success than that of his employees. this can lead to poor feedback or none. whatever you consider worse. The managers walk around and ask for sales like we are a call center, but then preach about consultative sales. consultative takes time and is not something done the day of. hypocrotical managers. dont be late and then show up ten minutes late. I am not sure if that is to show what its like, but as a manager you should be an example at all times.

Advice to Management

place people better if they are drinking the Kool-Aid and pay to transfer them
